Aegon Competition 2013

There has already been a flying start to the tennis season this year, with the 1st IV girls competing in the National Aegon Competition. Having won the first round convincingly away at Royal Hospital School, the pressure was on as we prepared to play the second round against Ipswich at home. The girls showed excellent determination and stamina in the singles, eventually ending up with convincing wins from Jaqui, Iman and myself, with Suzie narrowly losing out to some tough competition. The doubles matches really showcased the already solid teamwork of the girls, which is especially impressive considering we are so early in the season. We came out on top with 2 wins in the doubles, after a nail-biting tie-break in Suzie and I’s game, bringing the total score to Felsted 5-1 Ipswich. We look forward to progressing through to the 3rd round, and hope that these wins bode well for the upcoming Summer of tennis!

U15 Boys Aegon Cup

Result:Won 10-2
Review: Felsted School now has two wins out of two in the Aegon sponsored U15 Boys' Tennis National Championships following their latest victory over Tendring College. This was a fantastic result for the School with impressive displays from Team Captain Edward Reid from Elwyn’s House, Max Haendle from Gepp’s, Charlie Broom from Mont’s, and a Man of the Match performance from Year 9 Pascal Rubinstein, who is also from Elwyn’s. Pascal showed great Felsted sprit and maturity and character to hold his nerve to win in his closely contested singles match 7/5, which resulted in Felsted taking 10 out of a possible 12 points. Congratulations to all the boys involved in what was a great victory for the School.
