Senior Boys' House Tennis 2013

The summer weather has finally arrived, just in time for the inter-house Tennis fixtures. Each house provided two pairs to compete for in this annual doubles competition. Deacon’s House took an early lead winning the first round, with their doubles pairing of Cristobal Pohle Vazquez and Dan Ogilvie winning 10 out of a possible 14 games against Mont’s. Gepp’s took the second round with their pairing of James Wilkinson and William Scott-Bowden winning the majority of their games. Elwyn’s were in third place going into the final round, but their best was yet to come, an inspired talk from Mr Peart resulted in them winning the third round by a clear 5 games, with first team player Ed Reid and U16 first team player Oliver Chaplin winning 7-0 in their final match. It was however not enough; despite Deacon’s first pair losing to Gepp’s in their final match, Deacon’s second pair of Harry Silcock and Grant Polkinghorne won their last match 5-2, ensuring that Deacon’s became the Senior Boys House Tennis Champions for 2013.
